Offsite SEO: Writing Classified Ads

Classified Ads are a great way to get started to market your website (SEO marketing).

Once you made your website, it is time to market that website. This is Offsite Search Engine Optimization (Offsite SEO).

More importantly, you need to market your business.  Offsite SEO just is the process of help you make your website seen.

When you market online, you have two (2) main objectives.

1. Traffic:  You are trying to get traffic to your site, especially qualified traffic.
2. Search Ranking:  The other thing you want is for the search engine, like Google, to recognize your website as one of the top sites to help answer some people's concerns (when they type in certain related keyword phrases).  Besides making a good website to answer their questions, you also need a lot of other websites "voting" for (pointing to) your website.

Classified Ads are great for this.

What are the benefits to using Classified Ads?


Classified Ads are read often.  Many people see them every day.  Sometimes they see them several times per day.

They also let you leave a link from your classified ad to your website (a backlink to your site).

Some of these get posted really high on the search engines really quickly.  Generally, these will stay there for a couple of days.  Then they will drop to a lower position on result listing.

Oh, and many of these are free!  I don't think that's a bad benefit.

Where can I go to post a Classified Ad?

If you look, you will be able to find plenty of other sites, but this is more than enough to get you started.

What should I write in my Classified Ad?

Nobody knows, for sure, what the perfect classified ad should say, but here are a few suggestions that I have:

• Title:  Include your Keyword in the Classified Ad Title
• Body:  Include these in the Main Classifed Ad Body:
• Keyword:  Use your keyword somewhere in the body.
• Backlink:  Use your website one time.
• Benefits:  Include reason that they should buy this from YOU.
• Create Urgency:  Provide some reason they need to buy from you NOW.
• Contact Info:  How do you want the person who is interested in your product or service to contact your company?  Include this information.

Summary


Classified ads are easy to create and post.  However, you need to keep doing it.  This is a short-term solution.  Pay attention to future posts for more long-term solutions.
